Born in 1957 in Paris<\/strong> where he still lives and works.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marc Harrold discovered photography through journalism. In 1980, he participated in the creation of the Filtra-Presse agency before joining the world of advertising in the 1990s. At the same time, he developed an artistic work that became more and more important until he devoted himself completely to it.<\/p>\n

Harrold captures images that reveal the interaction of light and shadow. He shows us how time creates probable and improbable moments, where the visible reveals the invisible. His photographs do not seek to freeze a moment but rather events that unfold in a matter of seconds. Through his lens, he tracks opposites: stillness or movement, people coming together or dispersing…<\/p>\n

“I carry out series of shootings at different times, at random, showing contrary situations. A duality which is the essence of life and in the center of which humanity is in perpetual search of its place. My photographs look at the impermanence of beings and things. Signs tracing their passage into light and shadow. I give weight to aesthetic principles that serve my purpose and my feeling.
\nThe purpose of my photographic work is not to transmit an ordinary message but to share a thought, an emotion, enriched with the experience of the observer looking at my work.”<\/p>\n
