Born in 1950 in Paimpol. Lives and works in Normandy.
“One of my great discoveries was the possibility of working with light as one works with stone or metal, by giving it form. Each sculpture of light by Alain Le Boucher is a meeting between a material form, a transparent construction of metallic wires and a rhythmic composition, a play of light in movement which makes the sculpture alive.
Alain Le Boucher, trained as an engineer, discovered one day that it was possible to work with light as one works with stone or metal, by giving it form.
He always starts with a sketch on paper, then creates a luminous score using electronic components and LEDs, as he would compose a piece of music.
Alain Le Boucher has exhibited in France, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, the USA, Hong Kong and at the Artima Gallery since 2014.
