Works
Biography

Born in 1986 in Zamora (Spain) where he still lives and works.

Diego Benéitez began his career in the world of urban art. He pursued an artistic education and, since 2010, focuses on painting, exhibiting widely at national and international level.

His painting is a dialogue that borders on abstraction if not an ever-present horizon. His work is characterized by soft, muted colours and fine lines that create soothing atmospheres. Centered on a vibrant streak of light and broad bands of contrasting colours, Benéitez’s works are first painted in oil to achieve rich tones and chromatisms, which he then complements with glazes and halftones in acrylic.

The artist emphasizes the simplicity of everyday life: the silence of the countryside, the clear sky, the blue of the morning or the grey of a cloudy day.  He paints moments that seem unimportant but whose singular beauty generates an important memory. Far from being abstract and empty of meaning, his landscapes, sometimes rural, sometimes urban, have an existential depth.  They awaken the imagination and encourage contemplation.

“What impresses me the most about the landscape is the changing atmosphere, its light, time; that attractive uncertainty of the rhythm of the natural”.

Diego Benéitez creates silent and fertile pictorial spaces where the viewer can rest or escape and where harmony is possible.
