Portrait de Keymi

Was born in Paris in 1973. Lives and works in Clermont-Ferrand.

Keymi (Mickey in slang) started painting in 1990. He grew up with the hip hop wave and painted his first frescoes and graffiti in 1992. For several years, he has been covering the walls of Clermont Ferrand. Initially done without authorization, his graffs have acquired the benevolence of the administrations, he has received several orders. Lately, he has created two new series entitled Pin-Up puzzles and Cacophonies, spray-painted on resinated polystyrene, a tribute to pop artists such as Roy Lichtenstein and to these American women of the 1950s, popularized by Alberto Vargas and Gil Elvgren.

He has been exhibiting at the Artima gallery since 2012, as well as in Europe and the United States.
