Marcus Egli does not call himself a sculptor, but a metalworker. He stages his “Hominium”, gathers them, conditions them. He creates loose or dense crowds and plays on the contrast of materials, the raw and rough aspect of the body combined with the smooth. His small figures with polished faces reflect the image of the one who looks at them and the world around them. Each is created one by one, by hand.
He has been exhibited in France, Switzerland, Italy, England, the United States… and at the Artima Gallery since 2011.
