Was born in 1961 in Chalon-sur-Saône. He lives and works in Paris.
The paintings of Ugos are Pop art’s microcosms of forms, materials, colours and drawings.
At the beginning, there is the white canvas which is quickly covered with children’s toys. As a broken relief by the use of collages, it now requires only the support to be painted. Ugos composes then scenes of our everyday life, essentially urban. The street, the buildings, the traffic and numerous characters living simple moments are a rich source of inspiration for the artist. His view of our society oscillates between humour and gravity, from the tonicity of the rough colours until the depth of the grey in its series in black and white.
Exhibited at the gallery since 2002, Ugos invites you to discover this series of naïve, colorful and abundant villages and to share his fantasy and good mood.
