BLUE HOUR
This new exhibition by Daniel Raynott extends the summer into a realm where it seems to never end. Turquoise-speckled swimming pools, modernist villas, palm trees, and dazzling light come together to form a suspended landscape, somewhere between the California dream and the good life.
The artist draws on his memories of stays in Palm Springs and Los Angeles to reinvent a sun-drenched world on canvas. He returns time and again to these places, which he discovered in the 1980s and which shaped his perspective. He celebrates an iconic California where every scene evokes an eternal summer.
