Jeunes filles en fleurs

Born in Vannes in 1971, Frédérique Tristant presents her colorful, delicate and poetic works on paper, watercolor, gouache and acrylic for the first time at the gallery. She revisits the female portrait from the angle of a carnal envelope that brings memories to the surface of the skin. The folds and wrinkles of peeling paper anchor her work in the genre of the vanitas, and the motifs she chooses allow her to move from a photographed real person (very often her children) to a fictional character. By recreating the imaginary, nostalgic geographies of childhood, she tells personal stories that become universal.

La libertad y el paisaje

Born in 1986 in Zamora, Diego Benéitez paints astonishing works that border on abstraction, if not an ever-present horizon. Centred on a vibrant streak of light and broad bands of contrasting colours, his canvases are first painted in oil to obtain rich tones and chromatisms, and then completed with glazes and half-tones in acrylic. He loves nothing so much as the diffuse hours just before the night extinguishes the last rays of the sun.
