Didier ENGELS
DOCKS
Born in 1956, this Belgian artist is inspired by the sea and the merchant ships that sail its waters. He explores the world of ports, salt-encrusted hulls, and tangled containers washed by sea spray. His photographic compositions reveal the details: faded colors, the passage of time, sedimentary textures…
His fascination with containers is transformed into a visual symphony of colors, assemblages, and geometries.
This is his second solo exhibition at the Gallery Artima.

ARPE ONE
TEXTURES URBAINES
ARPE ONE discovered the world of graffiti at the age of 15. Alongside other graffiti artists, he began to express himself freely and wildly on walls. Tagging, painting, leaving his mark wherever his gaze fell quickly became an obsession.
His canvases are created in layers, like fragments of the city recomposed. The background is built up little by little: spray paint, roller, and acrylic are mixed together to create vibrant urban textures. Then his delicate and precise stencils of children appear, conveying peace, love, and innocence. Each color, each outline, each letter contributes to an instinctive balance where the material and the message respond to each other.

GROS PLAN SUR….
CHARLES FAZZINO
Everything about Charles Fazzino—his personal history, his artistic approach, his success—embodies a virtuous “American dream.” For many, he is one of the symbols of New York, of a happy, joyful, and free America, of an America open to others and to influences from around the world.
Fifty years ago, he created 3D Pop Art, both to follow in the footsteps of Andy Warhol in making art accessible to all, and because the influences of his childhood—pop-up books, the joys and games of his youth—were an immense and inexhaustible source of inspiration. Everything is subject to his artistic curiosity, and his relief paintings capture everything: views of New York and cities around the world, sports, and the excitement of major contemporary events.
